[Bug 992244] Re: Libreoffice won't connect to evolution contacts db

2012-11-05 Thread sschuller
Ho-hum. Nothing here. I've used versions of Ubuntu since 8.04 and this has never worked as described and has never been fixed. Now Ubuntu has switched to Thunderbird and I see comments on the web that Libreoffice in Ububtu cannot hook to that addressbook, either. I guess the plan is to leave thi

Re: [Bug 1041605] Re: Can't login after update and install nautilus encrypt

2012-08-27 Thread sschuller
My guess is that it is related to installing the Nautilus encrypt/decrypt (Seahorse plugins) rather than the software update that caused the problem. After I got back in business (by deleting the .Xauthority and reinstalling xorg) the problem has not recurred. It only happened the one time. On M

2012-05-03 Thread sschuller
Note that: /usr/lib/evolution/3.2/evolution-addressbook-export --format=csv >contacts.csv does work to export the addressbook to a csv file in the home folder and that Libreoffice can link to that csv file, so this can be worked around manually. -- You received this bug notification because you

2011-09-15 Thread sschuller
Note: This problem was never fixed; it was just stalled off for about two years and then Open office went away and Evolution went away as default installs for Ubuntu. I have no idea whether Libre Office now properly deals with contacts in an address book under a default Ubuntu install. Of course

2010-05-20 Thread sschuller
I'm sorry, but what you ask is completely unnecessary. Ubuntu simply is not shipped with the drivers for OO Word to access the Evolution contacts to use as database info, such as for addresses in letters. These files are available on Synaptic and they work... IF you can find out that you need them

[Bug 401140] Re: cups: no printer output (hp 1020)

2010-05-02 Thread sschuller
Finally, in 10.4 Lucid, (I'm using the 64 bit version) this appears to be correctly resolved. The printer firmware is sent at a later time in the process - after the desktop is up on the screen, in fact - and it loads fully and properly. I assume this must have something to do with the HAL changes?

[Bug 139317] Re: USB printer not re-enabled when it is turned on

2009-05-03 Thread sschuller
Exactly as TDB says. f the printer (HP 1020) is turned on when 9.04 is running, it will load the firmware and run perfectly. However, if left 'on' during the next boot, it will appear to load the firmware at startup - the lights flash, etc., but the pattern is not the same as when manually started.
