A vanilla install of motion configures motion to run as user "motion"
and provides a correctly chowned dir, /var/run/motion, for storing the
pidfile, motion.pid.
However, init script and motion.conf contain incorrect values to use
this.
Editing the following lines fixes it:
Re-open please. Not fixed for KDE 3.5, which is still supported.

First off, apologies for posting this here but I can't figure out how
the hell to use the Plone TRAC server to log a bug, as I sense this one
will need to be bumped upstream.
We've encountered a problem with regard to event-registration.js -
here's what we found out. Not sure
I'm having a similar problem with my HP nx7300 and the laptop mute
button. I've also upgraded from Feisty to Gutsy, although I'm using
Kubuntu.
When starting gutsy, the laptop mute button/light pings on during the
boot process, muting the sound. Pressing it later on does not
unmute/turn the light
I did a big update (lots of KDE packages and a new package for kernel
modules) prior to submitting this report; I'll test later on this
evening. Should I submit a new bug if it still doesn't work for me?

Same problem here; ipw3945 on eth1 will always hang at 28% when
attempting to connect to a WPA/WPA2 network (with or without hidden
SSID). Connects to the neighbours unencrypted connection just fine, but
obviously that's not much use to me ;)

to connect to any secured network, but will connect just fine with
unsecured networks. Running the latest NM and knetworkmanager on an HP
nx7300 with ipw3945. Connecting to WPA networks didn't work for me in

knetworkmanager is working fine for me with my WPA2 network and no
longer hangs at 28%, killswitch trick no longer needed either AND the
kwallet integration worked flawlessly too. Have reconnected three times

OK, been having this problem for a while now and have finally narrowed
it down so that I can repeat it. Using Kubuntu 7.10. Steps for me to
reproduce are:
Double-click a movie file to open it in Kaffeine
Drag another movie file from the dolphin window; window placement needs
Not working for me :( Behaviour seems to be exactly the same -
connection attempted, and then I'm prompted to re-enter the WPA key.
Running 2.6.22-11-generic and all the latest updates. Syslog attached.

install itself to hd2 (needs to be changed to hd0 to boot) but the
kernel typically enumerates the SATA drives in a completely different
order every time. If fstab wasn't using UUID
Any update on this? Don't know if there's any special steps needed to
install the updated language pack but it hasn't shown up on any of my

Confirmed in kubuntu alpha4 installer - at bottom of syslog we get:
The following packages have unmet dependencies.
kubuntu-desktpo: Depends: ttf-bitstream-vera but it is not installable
A quick glance at packages shows that kubuntu-desktop has this as a
valid dep but it's unavailable for install
Has this fix made it into the repos yet? Updated package list is still
showing the same dependency.

Confirmed still an issue with alpha 4 but had the foesight to instal an
ssh server this time. lspci -vv of graphics for comparison; karmic
doesn't seem to install with a xorg.conf (could this be the reason for
huge fonts?). No noteworthy errors in xorg log, other than it looks like

I've just done an install of kubuntu karmic alpha 3 from the latest
packages and have experienced the following issues;
Font sizes at login screen are huge (~72 points or so)
During login, screen/cursor visibly freeze every few seconds
On login, font sizes are still huge
Taskbar at bottom is drawn
Uploaded pic - displaying huge fonts on plasma desktop config jellybean
thing, plus corruption from hovering over upgrade icon in the system
tray.
As noted, this is a fresh boot from a fresh install of the latest
alpha3.
