Hi all.
This happened to me with 2.6.35-24-server, it is a MySQL (Percona,
5.1.54) machine running not so heavy load but slightly heavier IO.
Please find attached the crash log.
The uptime of the server was ~219 days, which is relevant according to

Hey, I just switched from Windows to Ubuntu 12 hours ago so I might not
know what I am doing.
I also have the same problem with the 1 pixel icon in the panel so I
looked around and found this file. Run it in the terminal and select
restore panel to default. Now my skype icon is showing perfectly.

I have the same problem with em350 and ubuntu 10.04. Front microphone is not
working while external is ok. I just try to install the realtek driver from
http://www.realtek.com/ but nothing has changed. I still have no sound from the
front microphone.
The same thing happens with Ubuntu 10.10.

i have the same problem with the symptoms described by
CarloBecchi, also with ubuntu 9.04 with the kernel 2.6.28
My laptop is a Sony Vaio VGN A517B, with a controller

I've reported the same problem.
I'm on a dual-boot P4 desktop and, interestingly, connected via a D-Link router
(DSL-G624T).
While under my Ubuntu 8.04 LinkedIn is so sluggish and almost unusable, under
WindowsXP all seems to work smoothly.
I haven't tried with any other browser than Firefox
This might be a bit late, however I guess my problem is similar to the
one above:
When Ubuntu boots after the startup progress bar, the screen goes black
and nothing happens. Even Ctrl+Alt+Fn and Ctrl+Alt+Back doesn't work.
I observed that behavior __ONLY__ when the NVidia Driver is installed
I double-checked the bug with Ubuntu 8.10 Live - CD and it's also there.
Connect a backup hard drive of your photographs, add two or three
folders (obviously, from different dates) and then go to View - Arrange
by folder. The timeline changes, but the images are still shown by
month.

Same here with a Maxdata Pro 7000x notebook.
Same graphic hardware, same problems..
I can login in console and change video driver in xorg.conf to vesa.
If I use intel driver these errors are displayed:

I'm having same problem with Ubuntu on a friend's PC, with abit ip35 pro.
7.04 live cd was not able to see any disk if set to IDE mode in BIOS, setting
in AHCI was the only way to install but the system was unstable.
Upgrade to gutsy and the system was unstable the same way.
