OK, I tried again and you're right, if I move the mouse a bit further to
the left the panel appears. But I have to move it for about one more
screen so it's strange if it's intended.
Also, there is a small graphics glitch which is visible in the top left
corner, you can see it in the screenshot. P
Nope, I tried that. I did notice that the shadow becomes thicker if I
place the mouse there several times, and after 5 or 6 times the menu
appears. I can try reinstalling fglrx tonight, to see if the problem
really is related to the open source driver. Strange that noone else
reported it though, my
I forgot to mention that I just removed fglrx because I was unhappy with
video performance. I didn't have this problem with fglrx.

guess this could have been a driver issue, since noone else seem to be
complaining. However, it could also be that this problem is so commonly
known that people edit the xorg.conf without considering that nvidia-
