I can confirm this bug. Started happening either after I upgraded xorg
or changed from the fglrx to the open-source radeon driver. The xorg
upgrade makes more sense to me. I'm on a IBM Thinkpad T60.

Regardless, that seems like an interesting fact. I agree upon the theory that
something wasn't removed/overwritten which does make the most sense.

After i updated kubuntu to the 8.04 version now late april, gtkpod wont
work properly. It worked fine before the update. When i click on it the
gtkpod window pops up but there is no text visible, and i dont get any
crash-messages?

mpdscribble does now launch at startup, it is unable to ever handshake

I can confirm this very same bug. I used Envy to install the binary
nVidia driver. I'm going to run Envy and uninstall the driver, then try
upgrading Ubuntu again. I'll post the result here.

So I'm running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 64-bit version.
After installing the latest system update when I try to boot up and
select the 2.6.20-15-generic kernel (the default one) in grub I get the
following error:
