first place. BTW, i use a self- compiled kernel 2.6.36, problem was the same
with a prior version and a ubuntu kernel. I'll do a dpkg-reconfigure gdm and
report any results.

thanks for your help.
The GlobalMenu Development seems to be very slow. So I dont think that
my problem will be solved in the near future. So lets see what the new
UNE globla menu can do for me.
