me-tv crashes when attempting to scan with an error:
Error in thread: Me TV cannot process a line in the initial tuning file
The scan file isn't available initially, as the dvb-utils are not installed.
Furthermore, thos have been renamed to dvb-ap
me-tv does not crash when using the ppa repository.
thankfully it also advises to install dvb-apps, but why not simply make
it depend on it to install it together with me-tv? it only created
hurdles for those not familiar with linux/ubuntu.

Sound had been present in 2.6.20-10, and was lost in -11, -12, and -13.

I not only did a cold reboot, I even unplugged the MB for >1h before
restarting 2.6.20-11 generic -- but no sound.
Restarting 2.6.20-10-generic did give sound!
Looking with Kinfocenter under Sound I found these differences:

and now I can't say whether this is solved because I don't have any
sound in the first place.
That is for sure. Otherwise I am not sure on anything but bug #92909 is
on a different sound chip. My motherboards is Asrock MB K8N

no sound whatsoever with 2.6.20-12 generic. In fact, it behaves EXACTLY
the same as with -11, including the observation about humming and
closed/open circuitry when cold booting and resuming. (I still get
proper sound with -10).
Shouldn't the fact that -11 and -12 are using the same Audio device a
still no sound in kernel 2.6.20-15-generic
if I understand the announcements correctly, then this is the release
candidate? Isn't someone concerned about releasing this apparently
simple fix?

I did a complete re-install on a new disk with the Feisty-beta and did all
updates. All left at defaults. There is still no sound.
Knoppix 5.2 does give sound when booted from CD on this machine (but has
no x-server :-\). if you need any info from Knoppix, ple
