Ian, I did an upgrade. If you know any packages I can swap round to make
my install more like a fresh one that would be cool.

Removing upower seems to fix the problem, but xfce4-power-manager
depends on upower so you lose the ability to hibernate by closing the
lid. Not a good workaround.

Also for anyone getting annoyed by this bug, a workaround is to install
pcmanfm, which is based on Thunar. Then just set your default file
manager to pcmanfm in the Settings Manager - Preferred Applications.

I have the exact same bug with the latest 13.04 on an Aspire One 531h-
0dk.
Pulling one slider down solves the problem. However the auto mute
silences the mik when the other person is talking, and never brings the
level backup. So pretty useless at the moment.

Could some explain what O0 does? From the man pages:

I left the logging going for a few more days. But even though I had

that Athlon supports SSE and Duron doesn't. Does -O enable SSE support?
I don't know anything about gcc but would've thought enabling SSE would
need a seperate flag.

My cifs server is Ubuntu 10.04 and my client machine is

Simply changing the fstab entry from type cifs to smbfs fixed the

Like Francesco said, I just downgraded to the 8.04 version. You can then
hold the package from upgrading using dpkg or aptitude. This has been
the situation for me since the release of lucid.
Alternatively you can install the Debian version which also seems

We receive about 30 faxes per day. During the time I was running the
Lucid version of Hylafax I would see faxgetty segfault at least twice or
more each day. So in my opinion it would appear to be related to how
often you receive a fax.
You can find some logs I made at the time further up.
Got my X working now using the proposed drivers HOWEVER
- Sometimes X will freeze whilst starting GDM and the only solution is to pull
the power
- Minimizing applications causes X to freeze for two seconds every time

I am using Thunar.
If I copy a folder from my PC onto a mounted samba share the folder is
created but the first file will error out with a Permission Denied.
Clicking retry copies the failed filed and rest of the files fine.

It's only reproducible for me with compiz enabled in gutsy with metabox
borders. Without compiz getting the diagonal resize handle is easy. With
compiz it's very difficult for any application not just gnome-terminal.

I'm not going to bite :) Although I will say I love SIS chipsets, they
are rock solid. At least for me they are.
Anyway. Yes this bug is now fixed for me using Hardy Alpha 3 CD. Didn't
have time to test performance since the box has to be available for
other things.
Based on what Toph has said
I have this bug too. It doesn't happen with all apps either, evolution
and firefox behave themselves.
It's easy to reproduce:
1. Open Deluge/Pan/Filezilla/GQView (there are many more apps that it happens
in).
2. Maximize the window.
3. Close Application
4. Open the same application, the window
