Patching is easy if you understand how to use the command line for common
tasks. I suggest that you use the main help, that is Yelp, found on the main
bar in Ubuntu and from there navigate to Evo.. When you are more familiar with
the commandline then look at how to patch Evo..

André,
Yes if I have anything to say about it. Right at the moment 5.12 seems to have
a few bugs being worked out. It might be a good idea to wait a little time
before the backport is created. You can always use the wiki for building your
own 5.12.

I sent an email yesterday to the Debian dev. about 5.12. He emailed
back today and told me he has uploaded it. So absolutely we will see
5.12 in Gutsy. :)

the problem will persist until either a patch is applied to each new
version of Evo. or until an action to stop this misdirection, to the
help path, is enacted.

I know I am writing a lot. But I also realize the above comment doesn't
make very much sense. The latest Maxima on Sourceforge is 5.11. I am
interested in building Maxima on a long term basis using the most recent
version for Ubuntu. I am very interested in CAS. I have almost
completed a M.S.
I am actually suggesting that I would or others would build it. It is
very easy to build well. I would enjoy the experience. Is this
possible?
