So, is this bad, or not? My /var is on a separate partition and I'm
receiving this errors, but apart from that, everything seems to work.

I'm trying to install a minimal Karmic base system with the netboot CD...
Problem is, even when I select no tasks whatsoever, it decides to pull in more

I have to report similar problems:
Partman failed recognize my partitions and just presented me with the
option to create new ones. The partition-structure was roughly similar
to the one mentioned in the bug report.
Unfortunately, my partition table was partially (!) corrupted anyway, so

It flicked by too fast to see. All I can say is that it happened during
the upgrade to Intrepid and I think it was something about javascript or
jre. If logs are created and someone tells me the right commands, I'll
post it here.

openoffice crashed inside the guest account
I'm still having this bug. But I also got 2 Guest accounts delivered
with intrepid: Guest session and Guest. Guest prompts for a password
and is inaccessibe, Guest session works. Don't know if this is
intended behavior but I think it's confusing to have two Guest-accounts.
I updated to Intepid
I have to correct myself: It did NOT happen during the upgrade to
intrepid, but later during the installation of the ubuntu-desktop
metapackage.

Same problem here. Upgraded to Intrepid from a clean Hardy-minimal
installation. Then logged in as the main user, switched to guest-account
and tried Ooo.
During the installation of the open-office-package apt complained about

I'm getting the same error message, but my laptop locks up completely at
this point (hard reboot needed). I read somewhere, that the same issue
affected Sony Vaio notebooks, so I guess that this might be connected.
Three oddities though:
Opening the cd-rom drive (only thing that works) will
Intel chipsets with built in graphic-acceleration (Centrino) also still

Similar problem here (Ubuntu 8.04, Intel 852 chipset).
When the X-server tries to do something, that makes the screen flicker
(switching users, logging out, shutting down), in 33% of all cases, the
system crashes completely (blank screen, absolutely nonresponsive to
anything).
