I got the same issue. Switching sound output in settings works.
Is this a pulseaudio issue then? or flash? will it be fixed? I do not
understand the fix committed?

I am using my brand new System76 12.04 LTS laptop. This issue has
plagued me since day one. It is very irritating. The only temporary fix
I found is rebooting the machine. Any updates on this issue?

Oh, and if a deactive one plugin in the shockwave list, the video play
in normal velocity but lagging... So it's relative to a plugin. When the
newer is actived the video is super fast, when a older version is
actived the video lags. Very unfortunate bug indeed.

I installed 12.04 64Bit on an Acer 5755 series laptop (this model does
NOT contain an nvida card). The system was working fine, until a recent
update has now since rendered watching flash impossible. Due to the
increased speed at which the videos are playing.

1. This bug also affects flash videos played in Totem, not only videos
played in Firefox or Chrome.
2. Several other people are affected. It appears as if this bug appeared

There sounds like a bug from a LONG time ago, which was caused by too
many alsa clients or something like that, you could fix it by hard
reseting alsa.
