I can reproduce the issue where the numbering doesn't get restarted in a
copy/paste of a list. However, I am unable to reproduce the misnumbering
in the middle of a list while pasting. If you can still reproduce this
on Ubuntu 7.04 please let me know. Also please tell me the exact steps

This is not a bug, but the default behaviour. You are expected to reset
numbering when you start a new list of the same hierarchical level.

sorry, i find that odd, if I'm copying and pasting a list i expect the
whole list to be copied if i have that whole list selected, including
numbering.
I also find that this behaviour occurs in another inappropriate way. If
I copied a line of text out of one list and paste it in to another
