Any update on this? I have exactly this problem. I haven't had any luck getting
a kernel log file when booting from 3.2.0-32 but it boots fine with 3.2.0-23. I
reinstalled Ubuntu 12.04 server from scratch and this problem appears
immediately upon updating the kernel with apt-get dist-upgrade.

I run the command and login with my account and allow access from that
machine and get to a page that says almost finished in a couple minutes
and that's as far as I can get. I tried it multiple times and can't seem
to get it tot work. Any ideas?
