This morning I had some time and I decided to give the bug fix a try.
First, I reinstalled Azureus using Synaptic. Then, I started Azureus.
However, this time it did not crash! It behaves differently as before
(see my earlier post). As Azureus does not crash (at least, I only tried
starting as
I'm sorry.
I didnt meant to be so arshe. And I thought you were referring to my
(inicial) post.
If you are now refering to some UPnP prob, I do also have some kind of
trouble with all my router doing an amazing reset everytime Azureus
starts UPnP.
Is it related or is a hardware prob?
On 5/3/07,
It could be related to this report - my understanding is that UPnP is
not very well specified/compatible and the Azureus wiki mentions that it
should be disabled if Azureus keeps crashing or if your ISP disconnects
every 24h or so. If it's causes you problems then you can disable it in
I understand people are disappointed if I don't install the patch: first I
report a bug, people take time to fix the bug and the only thing they want, is
a proof the bug is fixed.
However, I use the latest Azureus version. Not only because it just works, but
also because certain trackers need
BUGabundo, I'm not sure what you are saying - I didn't ask you to do
anything. The log I requested from Ernst should still be available to
him and besides there is little point in reporting bugs without the
willingness to provide sufficient information. I am simply trying to

Hi Sam.
I'm sorry, but I'm not going to install 2.5.0.0 via APT just to trace a bug.
Any user that in the past tried installing it would get the exact same error.

Daniel, Ulf's proposed fix was in fact for bug 57875, this one looks
completely different from the stack traces. However, they are only debug
messages, so may not be causing the crash. Then it sounds more like bug
68020. If the original poster could attach the hotspot log (specified in

I would like to test the patch, but I got already the newer Azureus
installed (2.5.0.4). As some trackers require the latest version, I'm
not going to switch back. Isn't it possible to upgrade the package to
the latest Azureus? It fxes the bug, and also other bug are fixed/new

If you look at my patch above, it removes the ubuntu specific patch
07_azureus-themed.dpatch that causes the crash from the patch list.
If just some Ubuntu MOTU developer would have time to try this out, we
would have a fix in the repositories.

Still this fixed, should be done on the repositories, and not by the
final user.

I have already reported this problem long time ago.
Still no fix.
It seems that the version of Azureus on the repositoies (2.5.0.0) is to old to
support current versions of java (1.5 and 1.6)
if yoou download the 2.5.0.4 from the site, it will work just fine.
