Title:
I would guess that you are using low quality media.
Could you run cdrecord -atip and send the output?

Noticed the same thing after upgrading my laptop from Feisty to Gutsy.
Feisty worked perfectly, Gutsy has issues.
Apparently the resulting CD is OK. MD5 matches.
It does it with every ISO I try to burn.

Thank you for reporting this bug. Issue has been confirmed by several
users. Seems to be related to Bug #107006 but since this bug has a
completely different log as compared to the former bug, I'm not sure if
I can mark this as a duplicate. I will, however, change the status to
Confirmed and Import

I can confirm the same problem with generic ubuntu (not x- or k-, just
vanilla ubuntu). Burning worked before a dist-upgrade to feisty, now
the CD/DVD creator just bails out after writing the disk. (and wodim
from command line fails, also)

feisty/xubuntu cdrecord fails to burn

Hello,
I have the same problem with wodim/cdrecord on my machine. It stops writing
just after destroying the CD. I do not think it has anything to do with rights
to the devices as I was trying that as root and blanking of CD-RWs works.
Everything worked fine on the same machine with the same CD
Tried with alternative (external USB) CD writer and that appears to have
worked. Will try internal again once I've install release candidate.
