Hi, I don't know if you'ce solved this or not. I can confirm this bug as I just experienced it. I was just playing around with compiz and rebooted my computer. GNOMEs GL-settings are set to normal workspace-switching appearance. I've found a workaround (see bottom of this mesage). My details:

Forgot to mention that i don't use cube rotation, since i find the compiz desktop switcher not good as plain gnome desktop switcher. For instance, i can't move a window from one workspace to another one, even with drag drop over desktop switcher (this might be related to #63208). -- fiesty fawn

I have the same problem, on the same pc, with a long time ago installed Feisty 32bit, a fresh 64bit, and a Gutsy 32 bit. I have nvidia card using nvidia restricted drivers included in repositories. Gnome panels and/or desktop icons are only shown on workspace 1. On the other workspaces (i usually

Not that I know of. I downloaded the beta when the kernel was .12 (now .15) I have kept the machine on daily updates. Machine is a plain semperon 1700+, nvidia agp 660gt Problem occurs regularly enough that I decided to report it. The problem seems to be time related - i.e. machine is idle, gone
