This is tremendously annoying and it's only one of the endless regressions in Unity. Canonical should SERIOUSLY consider rolling back to Gnome which was much more stable and usable (or to whatever MATURE and reliable, serious destop environment, unlike Unity which looks like an alpha release). The

I have experienced this with several programs: Terminal, Nautilus, Firefox for sure. There is a workaround: alt+tab until you select the application of which some windows don't show up, stop there but keep alt pressed. Then all the application's windows are shown, and in this case it _does_
