The 18 month support period for Feisty Fawn 6.10 has reached it's end of
life - http://www.ubuntu.com/news/ubuntu-7.04-end-of-life . As a result,
we are closing the linux-source-2.6.20 kernel task. However, this will
remain open against the actively developed kernel. If someone could

The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

Now, running 2.6.24-21-powerpc, the problem started about 5 minutes
after I booted the machine. At a moderate ambient temperature of 21

Now under 2.6.24-20-powerpc the bug is still observable.

Funnily, the same happened to me again. Without any manipulation of the
machine at all.
This time I was able to rmmod a couple of modules. I'd say the culprit
is one of usbcore, appletouch, usbhid, ohci_hcd and ehic_hcd. After
removing these modules and re-loading them, the touchpad worked again.

because also the keyboard started to behave strangely, taking very long
to accept input (in the order of seconds) and repeati

sister uses her iBook exclusively with OS X and she never once had such
a problem during 3 years of usage. I do believe that the driver can be
made to adapt or overcome the problem when it shows up. As the

I have the same problem using Feisty. However, I think this problem is
hardware related (poor electrostatic shielding of the pad especially on
the iBook) and wonder if this can be handled by the software completely.
I experience similar problems in Mac OS X, by the way.
