Hello,
1. If I insert my ubuntu 14.04.3 dvd, there is no dialogue box shown to
suggest me to add this cd rom to the synaptic.
2. In synaptic if I choose to add a cd rome in edit menu a dialog box asks me
to insert the dvd in my dvd rom. but after this action
I get this exception:

This is not a matter of how to make it work. I know how to fix it in a couple
of different ways, but the user couldn't have the same clue.
I can mount the cd and tell apt-cdrom where it is;
I can adjust the fstab to say where is the correct mounting point for a device;
And also I can do what mvo
I haven't checked that yet, but as a workaoround you can use:
-o Acquire::cdrom::mount=/cdrom (or the hal path)
