I've just got into this problem after changing mobo&processor (Core 2 Duo 4500, Abit IB9). The drive is an ATAPI-one (no SATA, HDD is on the second controller). I've also changed my kernel from -386 to -generic one. The system is Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10). Is there any info we could provide to help fi

I have almost the same problem. When I insert a blank CD, the system freezes after about 10 seconds. After about 5-8 minutes the system wakes up again and I can start burning (have only tested cdrdoa). The system also wakes up after about a minute if I eject the CD. The following workaround fixe
