I think that version of gnome-settings-deamon could be teorically
outdated, because of creating fork of gnome-control-center in Ubuntu
14.04 (more here https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-
desktop/2013-December/004360.html )
I also think, that you should create new report for the bug, since t
I noticed the same problem when I started using the Gnome Team PPA to
try Gnome 3.10 on Saucy. After upgrading to Trusty, I was expecting the
problem to resolve itself, but it didn't. Seems some of the Gnome Team
PPA stayed on my system after upgrading to Trusty.

I'm still getting errors with this. I'm running on 13.10 and the

replacement for grub like most posts suggest on other threads but
nothing is working for me.

The patch I applied to gnome-settings-daemon in the gnome3-next ppa, is
not required on Saucy (gnome-shell 3.8). Whatever is happening on Saucy
is a different bug.

you please file a new bug using `ubuntu-bug gnome-settings-dae
Will this be released for saucy, or do I need to go to the Gnome PPA for
this fix? The Desktop, especially workspaces, is virtually unusuable
without hotkeys.

Downgrading from Gnome-shell 3.10 to Gnome-shell 3.8 solved the issue at

I've been digging in the source codes a bit and although I am no Gnome
developer, in commit https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-
daemon/commit/?id=487a936e61766f0306772c1269e2ff437fc53a46 a 'timestamp'

I added the GNOME3 Next PPA, upgraded to Shell 3.10 and shortcut & FN

Similar issue here. Had upgraded Ubuntu Gnome from 13.04 to 13.10 and

from 3.8 to 3.10 ( gnome3-team/gnome3-next PPA only, NOT staging) and

Hi. I updated from 13.04 to 13.10 couple days ago, and since I am using
two keyboard layouts, I used Alt+Shift to toggle between layouts. It
does not work, but started working the AltGr+5 (EUR sign). Old terminal
shortcut (Alt+F3) still works, only Alt+Shift does not.

Just as Matthew Butler in comment #30 above, I did a clean install of
Ubuntu GNOME 13.10 release today adding gnome3 and gnome3-next ppa's.
Now shortcuts don't work, in particular CTRL+ALT+T which is a pain. I
can add/change the shortcuts, and even add CTRL+ALT+T as a custom

Upon upgrading to the latest 31.10, with gnome-settings-daemon

fixed.

I'm using gnome-session-flashback 3.6.2, and ctrl+alt+t to open a new

If using regular gnome session, then ctrl+alt+t opens terminals fine.
Other shortcuts work fine, e.g. I can use alt+F10 to toggle window
maximization.
