I worked for some hours with kernel 3.12 and here's the situation with respect
to version 3.11:
- problem rtl8192cu module is able to connect to the wifi modem only if the
modem is very near (1-2 meters): SEEM (I hope) to be resolved
- problem Randomly the connection go down like the modem was
I've just installed the stable kernel release 3.12.0-031200-generic from ubuntu
repositories, but the problem persists.
I complete my previous message saying that (in 3.11 and 3.12 too) the
connection seem to be slow and the signal quality retrieved is low also if the
modem-router is near (50
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v3.12 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

I'm not very experienced in trying kernel versions installed manually. I read
