I have this issue on both english canada and french canada and I have
aspell.en and fr. These are the gnome dictionaries? What are they
called for open office I guess they are different? In future to be of
some use please give a name of files to load. sudo apt-get install
openoffice.org from inf
It's tricky because OOo is not like M$ Word. Use OOo 2.4 and try the
following and see if it helps :
1) Open document (usually you will have this issue with documents that others
give you)
2) File > Wizard > Dictionaries
3) Retrieve lists and select the dictionaries you need
4) Tools > Language >

I have the same prob on Gutsy, after the last office update my spell ck
stopped working but only in office all other programs it is fine.
