I got it working with links from Brian Pitts
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/displayconfig-
gtk/+bug/125941/comments/7). I attach my working xorg.conf.
Displayconfig should produce sth. like that.
I'm able to activate my external monitor with following command:
xrandr --output VGA --m
I have tested the most recent displayconfig-gtk (0.2+20070905) with IBM
R60e today (2007-09-06) [Intel driver]
Problems:
Booting with Dell fp2000 (1600x1200) display connected but not switched on
laptop screen is blank. On switching on the Dell external screen the resolution
is less than 1600x12
I have tested newest version of displayconfig-gtk with intel driver. But
it did not work when choosing the clone function or extending my TFT
display with a CRT monitor to the right. See attached Xog.0.log.
As far as I know is the "intel" still experimental. That means I will
try i810 tomorrow and
Displayconfig-gtk shouldn't enable Xinerama on intel grpahics cards.
It seems to cause crashed for many people.
