I can confirm this is still an issue.
I'm using a Lenovo W550s, fairly recent install of Xubuntu 15.04 (see
attached ubuntu-bug output).
The xfconf pointers xml file had explicit values for these options in
the synaptics tap action property, which presumably were copied from
some initial configu

for 60 days.]

I have uploaded a patched version to https://launchpad.net/~thad-
fisch/+archive/test for testing purpose. You will have to restart your
session and maybe toggle the Tap to Click option once to apply the new
settings.
