Gutsy has ended its supported life, so a fix will not be made for this
particular bug. (It should not be an issue in more recent versions of
Kubuntu)

One way to circumvent this dependency bug is to install the following
packages from the Feisty repo using »dpkg -i PKGNAME«:
kde4libs-data_3.80.3-0ubuntu4_all.deb
kdelibs5_3.80.3-0ubuntu4_i386.deb
libpoppler1_0.5.4-0ubuntu8.2_i386.deb
libpoppler1-qt4_0.5.4-0ubuntu8.2_i386.deb
Then you can install
it's still busted. We're planning to grab a new upstream snapshot at
some point.

You stated in the changelog that it is KDEs fault, is this rectified now
