Hilario, I've tested this on a dell poweredge that I have (which ostensibly does not have a synaptics touchpad) and indeed, the crash does not occur. This suggests to me that your suspicions are correct with respect to the synaptics being involved here. I'm also a bit suspicious about the sheer si

Hi Hilario, When this crash occurs, there's nothing written to /var/crash. I followed the procedure in [1], but gdb spits a message that about 486 symbols and I suspect those are not correct for my athlon? Nevertheless, I'm attaching the report so that you can see that I get no stack on "bt full".
