I would like the TV LG 37LB2 added. (or preferably to work out of the box) In windows, no specified driver is used (Plug and Play) and it is identified correctly by xrandr. Still it is impossible (without doing heavy modifications) to get an output to this screen with the default

I have the same problem on the Gutsy Tribe 5 Live CD. I have an Acer AL1916W 1440x900 widescreen monitor, and the 1440x900 resolution is not listed. In fact, only 4x3/5x4 resolutions seem to be in this list. I have an ATI Radeon X1600 video card. Ubuntu should be able to autodetect my monitor,
