Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to
your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

I no longer have the Rev.A Macbook Pro available to verify that this
issue is closed. Since Intrepid is nearing release and few others are
affected by this bug I would recommend (as the submitter) that it be

I've had the same problem when using the mini.iso netinstall with a 15
macbook pro with a X1600 graphics chip. I believe the install was with
the current rc release of gusty.

This will probably be fixed in the next release CD: I've re-installed
from the Tribe 5 alternate ISO. X fails, but simply running apt-get
update apt-get dist-upgrade fixed the system and booted into Xorg
with no need to manually install the restricted drivers. The restricted

I am having the same / a similar problem. I am not able to install
Kubuntu or Ubuntu Gutsy for either tribe 4 or tribe 5.
The problem seems to be as reported above:
The ATI fglrx drivers are not loaded for the video card, and Xorg fails
to find any displays using the vesa driver. The Xorg log
