It says checking for update in the default English US on the BQ!
Turns out the text is being truncated because there is a hidden retry button
that limits the space.

And looking at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-

place) it's ok in the translation file as well.
But it's definitely wrong on my device! (see attached)
