Ok, I have tried with a live cd of Hardy on two computers, and indeed, the problem seems to be fixed. The process stays under ~80 Mo, everything looks fine. :) Thank you for your time. -- Huge memory leak with this odt file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152165 You received this bug

I believe that this bug has been corrected in Ubuntu hardy openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking it as Fix Released. If after upgrading you continue to have problems with this issue then feel free to reopen this bug. Thanks, Chris Cheney ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu)

Does this bug still occur with Ubuntu hardy openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3? The bug that was causing Xorg memory usage to become huge (leak) has been fixed so I think it may have also fixed this issue. Thanks, Chris Cheney -- Huge memory leak with this odt file

I can confirm this, noticed first with openoffice.org Calc. On a Core2Duo w/2gb RAM, Oo 2.3 and Ubuntu 7.10 w/latest updates, the application gets very slow after only about 15-20min of intensive usage (includes a lot of scrolling up and down sheets!). Shutting down all Oo instances and

In my case, I didn't notice about the xorg process. But soffice.bin definitely uses all the RAM very quickly. Shouldn't the bug become confirmed ? Maybe it is not linked to Ubuntu, but to OOo version... -- Huge memory leak with this odt file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152165 You

Hi Chris Thank you for your answer. I can't check right now, because I don't have Gutsy installed yet. But I asked some Gusty users to test, and someone confirmed that the bug was still present (gutsy, OOo 1:2.3.0-1ubuntu5.1). Apparently, the memory usage keeps stable when you open the
