2. If the eclipse package in ubuntu will ever be upgraded to 3.3, the PDT will
be available from within eclipse using the eclipse updates system.

Eclipse - PHP Development Tools needs packaging
It's very easy to install PDT using the all-in-one package (if you are
using KDE you might need to install the gnome packages) (tested on
Feisty and Gutsy):
