This was discussed first in an e-mail thread including some Foundations
team members. John McAleely suggested doing the switch, and at that
point there was agreement that we can get this done yakkety. Then there
was rightly your mailing list thread https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives
Calibre was FTBFS (on arm64) due to this particular issue
I had to rebuild pyqt5 to fix it
