Hi Hussam,
It seems you have a slightly different bug than what was originally
reported here so it would probably be best if you opened a new bug
report for now. Thanks.

I am nit sure if this the same problem. I am running Intrepid Beta and
have a strange problem with the Broadcom Chipset BCM5754 using the tg3
driver. I can ping the external network and perform all function from
the machine to others in the network. But nobody can ping this machine
from outside.
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

Hi Steven,
Can you attach your dmesg output after this happens. Also, just curious
if you'd be willing to confirm this issue with the latest Alpha release
for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 - http://www.ubuntu.com/testing. Thanks.

Sorry I have been away for the past month and havent had a chance to
test my wired connection until now but it still seems to be happening
with the latest updates, however it takes longer to happen. While it
used to drop the connection within a few hours now it seems to keep it
for a few days

Hardy Heron Alpha2 was recently released. It contains an updated
version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron
Alpha2 release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-2/ .
You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you
can, please verify
The Hardy Heron Alpha2 release will be coming out soon. It will have an
updated version of the kernel. It would be great if you could test with
this new release and verify if this issue still exists. I'll be sure to
update this report when Alpha2 is available. Thanks!
** Also affects: linux
I'm opened a new task against the actively developed kernel. However,
I'm closing the report against linux-source-2.6.22 as it does not meet
the criteria for a stable release update. You can learn more about the
stable release update process at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates .
