Hmm, but why Ubuntu's version worked once after running upstream's redeclipse.sh (not as root) and why Ubuntu's version stopped to work after restarting of it? Maybe some environment variables that links to upstream release dir? I don't know the answer, but I hope this question will be helpful in

We find this error is usually caused by an outdated version of SDL2. Your OP says there's no upgrade log, have you tried: apt-get update && apt-get upgrade ? Failing this, we have an unofficial AppImage which should bundle the necessary libraries. See http://redeclipse.net/install -- You
