If you initially installed in UEFI mode, then of course, the bios
version of grub is removed. This is intentional as you don't need it
when you are booting in UEFI mode. If you want to change, then you need
to install the bios package and should remove the UEFI one if you don't
need it.

My fault didn't explain properly. My computer is UEFI but want to
perform a MBR install to boot on legacy systems. I follow this video:

grub-install at 15:30, which is where I get the error with modinfo.sh. It's
fixed by installing grub-pc-
