keyboard shortcut conflict: gedit and desktop workspaces

I activated the "normal" visual effects and noticed that compiz then
uses the ctrl-alt-pgup/pgdn combination to change workspaces lower or
higher by numbering the workspaces in following fashion :
123
456
789
The ctrl-alt-pgup/pgdn combination is then not available anymore for
gedit which coudl
