I triggered the sync, it is in proposed and built fine.
Lets wait if tests complete as well - with i386 removal and python3 switch
there is enough in flight to have a bumpy road.

I tested the Debian's patch to start the daemon even in diskless systems
locally and it worked fine. I agree that smartmontools should become a
sync from Debian from now on.

We have recently merged 7.0-2 and there wasn't too much Delta remaining.
In fact it came down to just a patch to let it run on diskless systems.
Debian chose a different way to achieve the same in bug

The solution is
