My PC have the same problem. Sometimes, when I minimized the Firefox,

Hi,
i have the same problem when i try to maximize or to move the firefox windows
on the desktop the result is a black screen and a system restart.I can't find a
bug report nowhere but just a second before the restart i have read on the
monitor something like "CPU frequency scaling unsupported".

same crash is happening here when minimize/maximize windows in task bar with
compiz enabled (default behaviour in Gutsy).
I tried to disable compiz 'cause I think it's a bug in the X Composite
Extension.
I don't think it's driver specific 'cause I'm experiencing this with an Intel
945
Saquib (and 10moons),
are you experiencing the same problem with compiz disabled?
I'm just trying this workaround.

Yes this "could" be with compiz-fusion. Try disabling effects like those burn,
lamp etc. Use minimize effect instead. this can be configured from the compiz
configuration. This should work, but not 100% sure. Hoping for better fix from
Ubuntu 8.04 tomorrow.

by the way, disabling the compiz-fusion totally cant really be a
solution. if nothing helps, try removing the Avant Window Manager
instead. I think Avant has more stability issues than the compiz-fusion.
No positive response from the guys at Ubuntu yet. sigh...

My PC have the same problem. Sometimes, when I minimized the Firefox,
which have 17 tabs, the x restarted.
