Just to clarify, I'm not against to the currently proposed fix :).
I just suggest that the other way might be better, but I'm also happy
with the current one being uploaded (and anyway, it will be
overwritten by the Debian package once the problem is fixed there, so
it doesn't really matter).

After talking to Jordan Mantha on IRC, I was persuaded to keep it
simple. Enclosed is a 19 line debdiff that creates the symlink Jonthan
Riddell mentions above.

You have to update the Maintainer field, please subscribe ubuntu-
universe-sponsors again once you have a new debdiff.
Also, I'm not sure if I understand this correctly... The problem is that
GNOME's menu understands the _32x32 suffix but KDE doesn't?
Thanks!

Err, the package is in main, so subscribe ubuntu-main-sponsors instead.
Also, forget my question, already got an answer to that:
LaserJock it doesn't work in Gnome either, btw
LaserJock they changed the icon name and forgot to change the .desktop ;-)

Ydrk. Sorry about that. Maintainer field now points to u-m-d list. I
also added a call to dh_desktop in debian/rules, which gave a lintian
warning.

No problem :).
LaserJock mentioned that they forgot to change the .desktop; perhaps it
would be preferable to update the name in the .desktop file (which if I
remember correctly could need some clean-up anyways)?

You
The combination of the link fix described above, and the fact that
the desktop files are now actually *installed* (via dh_desktop) is an
acceptable solution. Alternatively, one could remove the link again,
and change the icon name in the two .desktop files. That would work
also, but I
My png icons are prettier.
