Ah, thanks for checking in console mode; so chances are good it's not X.
To be certain - if you shut down X entirely (sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop)
can you recreate the issue? If so, then it definitely rules out an X
driver issue. If you can't reproduce it, then X may still be involved
in some way.
ok, I'm experiencing this bug in console mode too, so it's definitely
not X.
why I'm suspecting acpi : because it's a brightness flicker, so it could
come from bad voltage handling at low values (just guessing)

X?
Other possibilities could include performance problems, or incorrect
modelines. These can all cause different kinds of flicker. Performance
flickering you would expect to be accompanied by cpu loads. Modeline
issues will

ok, I attached the log file, but again, isn't that an acpi problem ?
to reproduce : just stay in the lowest brightness mode for 3-4 minutes
at most.
