I was in very much the same situation as a

was quite noticable because the frequency rate and time it takes for a
key press to start repeating itself has been increased.
Doesn't the initial suggestion of release event = stop
why hasnt this been fixed yet very annoying

An update to my situation on the MSI Wind: I was wrong when I said out
of the box. I had modified the virtual screen size (Virtual in
SubSection Display in xorg.conf) because I had a large external monitor,
but the issue manifested even though the external monitor was not
activated. Removing the
It happens to me out of the box with Intrepid. This is on an MSi Wind,
so I suppose the underpoweredness of the machine is an important
factor. But this should not happen. It is particularly noticable here,

You beat me to the punch, I was about to report the same unintuitive
behavior. Holding down the arrow-key shouldn't result in buffering the
'keystrokes', but instead FireFox should use the keys like a switch:
scroll when pressed, stop when released.
