Updated today, now at kernel -19, behavior changed slightly, no more
kernel panic, but network manager still crashes, taking out the keyboard
on its way down. I would test more, but not sure whether this bug is
closed or not, not sure if I'm just waiting for the fix to come down the
pipe or if the
I still have the bug after updating to kernel -18. This confirms my
suspicion my problems (and the attached syslogs) were unrelated to
jtuchscherer's. If the status has been changed to fix released based
on his comments, I think it was changed mistakenly.
If instead there's been a fix in the

[Hardy] [ACX100] nm-applet, NetworkManager crash, then system crash when
connecting to (WEP) in roaming mode

could you install the network-manager-dbgsym, the libnm-util0-dbgsym and
libnm-glib0-dbgsym packages and reproduce this bug? Then attach the
syslog after the crash happened again? The apt lines needed for the
dbgsym packages are documented on

Knowing that this comment might not be very helpful, but I just wanted to let
you know I hit the same problem with my ACX100 card. Please let me know if I
can be of any help fixing this issue.
I abandoned the network manager and tried ifconfig and iwconfig to connect to
my WEP secured network.
(There is no crash with an open network, in that instance
NetworkManager simply fails to connect.)
