Last week i upgrade my kde 4.0.4 to the kde 4.1 beta packages provided by nixternal (whomever this may be :D). And see, i connect my cam and it works, i can access it under kde 4.1 beta with dolphin 4 and konqueror 4. Didn't try kamera ( i dont even know if a backport kamera 4 exists). So for

similar to others already posted. Camera (Canon S5is) worked perfectly under 7.10; when I went to hardy, started getting the already reported dolphin problems when mounting memory sticks: dolphin opens with the message: A security policy in place prevents this sender from sending this message

KDE 4.0.4 did not ifx the issue for me. The device still failed to settle. I too need sane etc. as my scanner requires it, so removing that stuff is also not an option for me. One of these days, when I get time (almost impossible with two infants) I will try debugging the gphoto2 stuff to see

This is no solution for me. I need sane and I love some of the programs, depending on gphoto2. But I figured that I can access my camera using KDE 4.0. I had to connect twice but it worked. This first time no drive showed up but device settled both times according to dmesg. It seems this problem

I am experiencing a similar problem with a Pentax K10D DSLR. The camera appears when executing 'lsusb' but is not visible when executing 'fsiks -l'. I had minor issues when running Gutsy (the camera would only mount after a system restart) but since upgrading to Hardy the camera will not mount
