Hello Michael...
This is the first time I have been contacted (I am quite happy that you
contacted me).
Here's what I did. I got tired of messing around with the problem, so I
ordered a disk w/ 8.10. I backed up my files, and re-installed.
The only thing. I have this Belkin F5D7051 wireless

Thank you for the direction. Apparently my many problems were a result

directions in but #237325, all function are now working.
Thanks again for the direction.

update-grub fails during upgrade of the kernel
https://bugs
Dropping the milestone; I don't see how this upgrade error could be a
grub or ucf bug, the debconf frontend simply isn't there when it's
supposed to be. This is not a widely reported failure, we shouldn't
spend more time spinning our wheels on it without some indication of how
to reproduce it.

The problem with update-manager and synaptic is most likely bug #237325
in the libgksu package, which has been addressed in the hardy-proposed
archive for inclusion in the 8.04.1 poi
I began using Ubuntu 7.04 approximately 9 months ago and upgraded to
7.10 properly. Prior to upgrade to 8.04 everything I will talk about
was working properly.
My equipment is Toshiba Satelite, Model Name A85-S1072, Description
Microsoft® Windows® XP Home, Intel® Celeron® M Processor 360J, 256
Sorry, what errors are you referring to? If you are seeing other
problems unrelated to this upgrade error message, these should be filed
as separate bug reports.
As far as switching back to 7.10, downgrading is not supported; the only
way to switch from 8.04 to 7.10 would be by reinstalling. But
Since my last communication (2008-05-08) I have had nothing but errors
with ubuntu 8.04. How can I get back to 7.10 which worked fine for me?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm so frustrated, I'm ready to
go back to Microsoft.

Thank you for the assistance. I am not all that knowledgeable about the
failure. When I went to update the program, the failure occurred and
instructed me to forward the bug notice. I have not experienced any
problems with UBUNTU 8.04 since installation. I don 't know if I have a
problem.
