could you describe how this automatic adding is working? there is some
way to synchronize contact between pidgin and evolution, you can
automatically add emails when replying to those. what option do you use
exactly?

From memory for the contact that worked I added it manually and in the
example above the one that didn't work was added automatically by the
plugin.

I've just tested this in with a clean installation running in a VM.
The steps to recreate the problem are as follows, setup pidgin since
this appears to be what evolution is using to automatically install
the contacts .
Then in evolution Edit - Preferences - Mail Preferences -
Automatic
to correct for the future.

I'm also seeing this problem on the latest hardy with all bug fixes
applied.
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ evolution --version
GNOME evolution 2.22.2
When I start evolution (or click on the contacts button) with the
following;
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ evolution -c contacts
I can see all my auto
After a bit of digging around I think I've found the cause of evolution
failing to display the contacts in the list, it appears that when the
plug-in auto synchronizes it fails to populate the email field. As
shown when the contact is saved as a .vcf.
