I cannot reproduce this issue on Jaunty after testing on two different
jaunty systems. $PATH does not contain /usr/bin/X11, and the steps
provided in the description do not generate the incorrect path:
br...@chideok:~/src/xorg/xorg-ubuntu-git$ type soffice
soffice is /usr/bin/soffice

Hi lee-sectioniv,
Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to
your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

I can still see the problem:
dagger ~ $ /usr/bin/X11/soffice
cd: 158: can't cd to ../lib/openoffice/program
/usr/bin/X11/soffice: 347: /usr/bin/X11/pagein: not found
/usr/bin/X11/soffice: 363: /usr/bin/X11/soffice.bin: not found

Now that /usr/bin/X11 is no longer in my $PATH, I'm not

If an old script tries to run /usr/bin/X11/soffice it will fail:
dagger ~ $ /usr/bin/X11/soffice
cd: 158: can't cd to ../lib/openoffice/program
/usr/bin/X11/soffice: 347: /usr/bin/X11/pagein: not found
