We are in the process of closing wishlist items that have already been reported
at KDE. Don't worry, your issue still is being tracked at KDE's bug tracker at:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165542 . It's just that Kubuntu currently
does not have the manpower necessary to take

Thank you for the suggestion, but this did not work for me. In fact, for
me the file is located at .kde/share/config/kglobalshortcutsrc
Replacing F12 with Menu made YaKuake's shortcut for open/retract
unusable. I don't think it will accept Menu as a valid key. Have you
tested this yourself with
While this is not solved here's a workarround:
With kde is stopped edit .kde4/share/config/kglobalshortcutsrc
Go to the yakuake section and replace F12 with Menu (whitout quotes)
start kde

No need to forward to the KDE bug tracker, it has already been reported
and is currently assigned as a feature wish.

Yet this is either a regression or a intentional change since the menu
key is assignable as a shortcut in KDE 3.5.

YaKuake 2.9.3 does not allow the menu
I can confirm this issue. This really isn't a Yakuake issue as it will
happen with any shortcut that you try to set the 'Menu' key as. I
believe this is an issue with KHotKeys, which is a part of the kdebase-
workspace-bin package, so I am changing the package name to that.
Thanks!
