Sure ! So far, it's been working fine and it sorted all acpi/apic
(etc...) issues allowing for a 'normal' and smooth kind of boot without
having to add any extra option. Thanks for your dedication, patience and
involvment.

As noted here by the previous comments, 2.6.27-3 has been released. It
appears to resolve this issue so I'm marking this as "Fix Released".
Please reopen by setting the status back to "New" if you see any
regressions prior to Intrepid's final release. Thanks.

just wanted to say that I tried linux-
image-2.6.27-3-generic_2.6.27-3.3smb5_amd64.deb from
http://people.ubuntu.com/~smb/bug254668/ and it boots appearingly
perfectly fine, i.e. without the need of adding noapictimer flag.
I guess I still have to wait for the 2.6.27-3 to be avai
did u try using the noapictimer flag instead of noapic?...
that seems to boot for me, even though it messes up some other things...
any idea when 2.6.27-3 will be in the repositories? because I need a 64
bit version

Thanks for all the updates. 2.6.27-3 should hopefully be uploaded the

Well, I'm not a kernel expert (least to say) and all I can report is
that both kernel 2.6.27-1 and-2 won't simply let me boot on my acer
aspire 9302.
Kernel 2.6.26-5 boots fine although I still get the same acpi-related
warning.
Tried to add noapic and noacpi options but that did nothing. It just
