This bug needs to be reopened for 8.04.
I have just done a fresh install of kubuntu 8.04 on amd64 with a new
Dell 2408WFP and am seeing the exact same behavior as the original
report. Id I do an lsusb I can see the memory card reader, it works
fine, and then at some point it disappears from the ou

this is isolated to the USB hub inside the monitor; the usb ports on the
computer are fine. eg i can move the mouse from the non-working monitor
usb ports to the usb ports on the pc and the mouse starts working again.
